As part of our goal to grow our YouTube channel, we are releasing the video versions of our interviews. We’re excited to share with you this interview we conducted with Paul Kingsnorth in the spring of 2022, which you may have already listened to in podcast-form.
In this interview, we discuss what Kingsnorth terms “The Myth of the Machine”: the machining of every aspect of humanity, the Earth, and our relationship with it. We discuss the importance of resisting enclosure on all levels, and the pernicious myths that are reinforcing the commodification and standardization of the world. We talk about the factory farming of the world as part of this mechanizing process, and we discuss how this impacts us on a spiritual level. We talk about the myth of The Garden of Eden, the loss of our indigeneity, and the Faustian bargain that the environmental movement is making as it leans away from analyzing the fundamental problems within our civilization.
We hope you enjoy the video version of this old conversation which still has so much resonance today. This interview is also featured prominently in our upcoming short film, which we hope to complete and share within the month.
We’re trying to grow our YouTube channel as way to fund this project, so views, likes, and subscribes are free ways that will really help us reach our goals. If you can spare a moment to like and subscribe, it would help us a lot!
Thank you to our paid subscribers for your continued support and for helping us keep this project going.
