What Happens When Something Dangerous is Knowingly Unleashed?
Recently, I listened to this podcast interview with Rob Bilott, the incredible environmental lawyer who has been battling for over two decades against the companies who have unleashed forever chemicals on the entire living world, all while knowing how toxic they were.
This podcast is an excellent exploration into the parallels that exist within the world of technology, science, and corporate interests. The patterns that occur in one realm are applicable in many other, seemingly disparate realms. In this podcast, they discuss the how the reckless rollout of AI is similar to the rollout of PFAS: the creators initially having good intentions, then learning the truth of the risks, and ultimately releasing them anyway for the sake of profits.
Hats off to Sadie Radinsky!
Our lovely friend, Sadie, has just released a single that was inspired by Hoofprints on the Land by Ilse Kohler-Rollefson, who we interviewed for our podcast.
Check out her new song below. It’s beautiful, tender, and an all-around lovely evocation of love for pastoralism — a lifeway we desperately need to protect as modernity encroaches and encloses the world into one unsustainable monoculture.
Or, in the words of Sadie herself:
Across the globe, in every type of ecosystem, over 600 million people practice pastoralism—the herding of hoofed animals. This way of life not only feeds the community nutrient-rich foods (independent of a capitalist food system and fossil fuel-dependent agriculture), but also fosters immense biodiversity, aka the rich harmony of flora and fauna. Seeing this way of life as a threat to its very existence, Western forces have greatly encroached upon the grazing rights and lands of pastoralists everywhere—be that the Maasai, Sami, Diné or Raika—rendering their ancient practices increasingly difficult.
Go give her some love for this wonderful accomplishment!

We are so close to our goal of full channel monetization. As of writing, we need fewer than 400 subscribers to reach that 1,000 subscriber milestone, and we’re almost there with watch-hours as well. It would be absolutely incredible if our followers could subscribe and help us reach this milestone before we release our next short film.
It’s a great (totally free) way to help us get back on our feet and make this project possible. And if we reach this goal, we’ll never need to beg for subscribers again!
Thank you to our paid subscribers for helping us keep our passion alive. Your support means more than any of you know!
