I came here after the Tyson interview and only halfway through but wanted to ask you guys if you've ever watched the Qatsi trilogy by Godfrey Reggio. I'm probably similar age to Tyson, so I watched these three movies (just a Philip Glass soundtrack, no narration) in my early twenties. The last one, Naqoyqatsi is a Hopi word meaning "life as war". It came out in 2002. Walking out of the cinema, "We're fucked" is all I could think. I think I'll have to see if I can find copies again and have a re-watch. Anyway, the way you described the port and greenhouses and refineries in this episode made me think of that.
