An absolute banger of a post, Maren. I felt this in my soul. Many of us are right there with you. The question is though, and this is one I’ve been posing to others that are aware on this level, is how do we get others to see it?
Thank you so much, Eric. This question you're posing is something I struggle with a lot. One of the challenges I've faced this election cycle is that when I'm trying to come from this third perspective that doesn't deify either side, it's often hard for people who are locked into the either/or point of view to even understand where I'm coming from, which has led to frustration and a feeling that I'm being tremendously misunderstood. Figuring out how to communicate these things effectively is definitely part of my personal process as someone who is trying to transmute something of use into the world. I almost don't think we can *get* others to see it so much as they need to have their own experience of tasting the toxic air they breathe, if that makes sense. Then there just needs to be enough material available for that person to not feel like they've gone insane and are an island - so they aren't alone in thinking the air is poison.
I wrote something a while back about the importance of other people treading a path through the forest to a meadow of possibility for each of us. We can easily walk the paved path to nowhere forever, eyes forward, but perhaps if enough people have a carved a path through the trees to somewhere better, people will see that they don't have to trudge through the woods on their own in order to get there.
Yes, agree. We can’t make someone care about something. They have to get there on their own. I learned this the hard way. Charles Eisenstein was a big influence in helping me get there.
I don’t know how we bring this awareness to others. I think about it all the time.
When I saw RFK say Trump will advise all water municipalities on 1/20 to stop adding fluoride to the public water supply, I wondered if something like this - the general public realizing that their gov’t has been poisoning the water supply since the 1940s - was enough of a catalyst to nudge people toward the awareness we’re speaking of. I don’t know. Maybe a small percentage. I used to think it was going to have to be a complete collapse of society and the system as we know it for the real change to come. Maybe that’s still the case.

But then again, we all know the cognitive dissonance and disinformation campaign from TPTB will likely be a massive hurdle to overcome.
